Loading game for the first time...

The bliips have escaped! They need your help to make their way back to their pen, where they'll be safe from mowlers. But be careful; these bliips can be feisty and might need to be calmed down first...

Can you navigate the labyrinth-like gardens in order to find and save the rare golden bliip?

Blipherd's Gardens is a pac-man-like where the goal is to rescue and protect the creatures chasing you rather than collect all of the goodies. But don't worry: said goodies are still useful for buying upgrades to help you keep your run going and multiply your score.

Credits:

My sister made basically all of the art and named the bliips.

I used MenacingMecha's Godot N64 shader to give the game that retro 3D look.

Made with Godot 4.6

Features:

  • Adorable little critters
  • A soundtrack made with a real instrument that you'll probably be sick of if you play this for longer than a run or two
  • Way too many mechanics and upgrades. Way too little playtesting. I can't believe this is even kinda sorta done
  • A retro 3D art style, because I'm not good at pixel art
  • A 7x5 grid of 36 levels for you to explore
  • A few little secrets and nods
  • Online leaderboards! (Probably not necessary but I'm glad I got them in there). The player in first place at the end of the jam rating gets... the satisfaction of being in first place!
LLM disclaimer:

I made use of Claude Code to speed up building and hooking up game systems, prototyping and iterating on the game design.

I did not, however, use any sort of generative AI for building assets or writing text, nor did I consult Claude or any other LLM for creative input or design decisions.

Each of the levels was made by hand. Any visual assets in the game were either drawn by my sister, or something I CSG'd together with hand-tweaked procedural noise textures.

The audio in the game was made using my guitar and guitarix. I was originally going to use a custom synth engine, but I had no idea what I was doing so it was sounding awful and I ended up pivoting last minute. I ended up hastily recording all of the audio in one session.
